FOI request detail

I would like to know which tube stations have public toilets

Request ID: FOI-0726-2425
Date published: 20 June 2024

You asked

Which tube stations have toilets open to the public, and which tube stations have closed their public toilets. This follows a complaint I made about Notting Hill Gate tube station and the closed public toilet there.

We answered

Our ref: FOI-0726-2425/GH

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 3 June 2024 asking for information about tube stations with public toilets.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Toilet facilities at London Underground stations are listed on our website here:

Transport for London customer toilets: locations and opening times (tfl.gov.uk). The information is also available on our TfL Go app.

There are occasions where toilet facilities have to be closed. This may be due to a fault or because the facility requires cleaning. In some instances where there is evidence that the facilities are being used for antisocial behaviour we may have to close them for a longer period to ensure the safety of our staff and customers. We do not keep a list of these as this changes all the time.

The toilets at Notting Hill Gate station have been closed for many years (since at least 2009).

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
