Request ID: FOI-0725-1718
Date published: 04 July 2017

You asked

Dear Sir/Madam Can you tell me about station security after the 7/7bombings in London. Did you increase security and ensure all visitors booked into the stations with valid photographic ID etc?

We answered

TfL Ref: 0725-1718

Thank you for your web request received on 21 June 2017 asking for information about station security.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

London Underground has worked closely with government and police for many years and like the rest of the U.K. Rail network has a proportionate security regime suitable for an open transport system. Periodic reviews take place and additional measures are introduced when required. These security arrangements remained proportionate after the incidents in 2005. Included are arrangements for ensuring visitors are bona fide.

If this is not the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
