Please inform me which statutory act covers the requirement to advertise the location of approved cctv cameras located on public highways being used to capture images of traffic offences
The power for us to use cameras to issue Penalty Charge Notices(PCNs) for traffic contraventions on the red route network comes from the following Acts:
The Traffic Management Act 2004
The London Local Authorities and Transport for London Act 2003
The London Local Authorities Act 1996
We are not aware of any statutory requirement within these, or any other Act, for us to advertise the location of any of our enforcement cameras.
