We answered

Dear

TfL Ref: FOI-0637-1819

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 9 June 2018.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require. You asked for Ticketing & Revenue Updates and Ticketing & Revenue Hot Issues Bulletins.

In accordance with the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act, we are exempting your request under section 14(1) of the Act. As a regular request for these documents is made every 2/3 months, we consider that to continue to provide you with these publications several times a year places an unreasonable burden on us. Our principal duty is to provide an effective transport service for London and we consider that answering these types of requests represents a disproportionate effort. It is a significant distraction from our work managing the TfL network, requiring re-allocation of already limited resources and placing an unacceptable burden on a small number of personnel. We do wish to clarify that whilst we consider that your request falls under section 14(1) of the FOI Act, this does not reflect a conclusion that it has been your intention to deliberately place an undue burden on our resources.

The publications you require are specifically designed for TfL staff to keep them informed of current issues and updates and have a very limited public interest. Whilst transparency is a vital part of our work, we consider that to continually undertake the necessary review and redaction needed to answer your request would place an unreasonable burden on our resources. As a result we consider the burden of retrieving, reviewing and redacting the information would be disproportionate to the benefit of providing it.

If you would like to re-submit a more narrow request then we will, of course, consider it.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
