We answered

Our Ref:          FOI-0621-1819

Thank you for your request received on 8 June 2018 asking for information about the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

Transport for London (TfL) has spent £8m on the Oxford Street Pedestrianisation from January 2017 to date. This figure includes £1.3m already spent on the Wigmore Street pedestrian improvement scheme, which is currently in delivery and will provide new and improved facilities for pedestrians and cyclists at six junctions along Wigmore Street.

The extensive joint work between Westminster City Council (WCC) and TfL that has gone into the planning and design of the proposals will be of use to any future scheme for Oxford Street.

TfL has also recently published the updated consultation report for the Transformation of Oxford Street which can be found at www.tfl.gov.uk/oxford-street.
