TfL Ref: FOI-0546-1718
Thank you for your email received by us on 02 June 2017 asking for information about the performance of bus routes 68 before and after the new Routemaster.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.
The information you asked for is available on our website using the following link: https://tfl.gov.uk/corporate/publications-and-reports/buses-performance-data.
The phased conversion date was from February 2016. If you pick a month, for example, December 2015, and then look at a matching month which is December 2016, you will have a comparison that considers seasonality. For the past 18 months, there has been a decline in average road speeds, particularly in central London, and this can have an impact on mileage. Vehicle type is unlikely to be a factor as operators hold spares in the event they need to substitute vehicle for operational or engineering reasons.
In accordance with section 21 of the FOI Act, we are not obliged to supply you with a copy of the requested information as it is already accessible to you elsewhere.
If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for some reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
Yours sincerely
