Thank you for your request of 26th May 2021 asking for information about street lighting on the Transport for London road network.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Could you advise if you operate any part night lighting turning street lights off during the night and if so, between what times? Any information you can provide will be appreciated.”
TfL does not turn off any street lights during the night. We do, however, use seasonal lighting sensor systems on lamp columns in some locations to reduce our carbon footprint and electricity costs in the lighter months.
