TfL Ref: FOI-0467-2122
Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 5 June 2021.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Environmental Information Regulations and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
Which pavements on red routes in the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea have been designated for shared pedestrian/ cyclist use by TfL?
Please see the attached Order GLA2016/0109 which relates to a 40m section of the southern footway of Chelsea Embankment by Chelsea Bridge. That’s the only relevant shared use area that we were able to locate. Any other shared use areas in Kensington & Chelsea would have been put in by the Borough.
How is such designation made by TfL?
Please find the attached Appendix C of the Local Traffic Note 1/20 Cycle Infrastructure Design issued by the DfT which explains the legal framework for cycle facilities.
