Given that SL1 starts from North Finchley, and SL10 terminates at North Finchley, this implies that the Superloop is looped around North Finchley, as the Superloop routes range from '1' to '10'. Is there any information or reasoning behind why North Finchley was chosen to be the looping point of the Superloop? Thanks.

Thank you for your request which we received on 7 May 2024, asking for information about the Superloop in Finchley.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked: 

 

Given that SL1 starts from North Finchley, and SL10 terminates at North Finchley, this implies that the Superloop is looped around North Finchley, as the Superloop routes range from '1' to '10'. Is there any information or reasoning behind why North Finchley was chosen to be the looping point of the Superloop?

It’s based on moving clockwise from a logical point, the top. North Finchley is nearest to “12 o’clock”. The numbers are then sequenced clockwise.
