I recently emailed TFL recruitment with a few questions in regards to the most recent Train Maintainer (TM) Campaign that took place. The recruitment team advised me that I would need to ask my questions through a freedom of information (FOI) request. I would be most grateful if you could provide me with the following information: •How many applicants were successful; who were external candidates and offered the TM role •How many applicants were successful; who were internal staff and offered the TM role • How many female applicants were successful and offered the TM role • How many female applicants who were successful; were internal staff and offered the TM role

Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12 June 2020 asking for information about the most recent Train Maintainer (TM) Campaign.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

Please see below the information you have requested.

  • How many applicants were successful; who were external candidates and offered the TM role

107 candidates were successful in total and offered the role. Of these, 80 were external to TfL.

  • How many applicants were successful; who were internal staff and offered the TM role

27 internal candidates were successful and offered the role.

  • How many female applicants were successful and offered the TM role

3 of the successful candidates answered they were female when asked for this information.

  • How many female applicants who were successful; were internal staff and offered the TM role

2 of the successful internal candidates answered they were female when asked for this information.
