Please can you provide a breakdown report of all job titles within your current IM Infrastructure Services division. For each job title, please can you indicate the number of staff that hold each of those positions as at 15 May 2017. Could you please also provide the average salary for each position Please also indicate the highest and lowest paid salary for each job title. To confirm, we are interested in Permanent employees of Transport for London only that work below the Head of Infrastructure Services (or current equivalent job title if this has now changed) Could you also break this down by Cost Centre as we understand that you currently have engineers in different areas with the same job title. IE - COST CENTRE XXXXX Description (EG. INFRASTRUCTURE: OPERATIONS) Job Title*, No of Staff in this position (within the cost code), Average Salary, Highest Salary, Lowest Salary *If it is possible, can you please break down the job title into technology area where relevant as the job titles are often generic. EG - SQL Engineer vs UNIX Engineer has the same title. We also understand that you are currently going through a re-structure in this division. Could you indicate when this new structure is expected to be fully in place, and if the wide variance in salary for staff performing the same job title will be reviewed and brought in-line as part of this? The wide variance is based on a similar request that was raised 1 year ago.

Thank you for your email received by us on 13 May 2017 asking for information about our IM Infrastructure Service Division.

 

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. You asked:

 

Please can you provide a breakdown report of all job titles within your current IM Infrastructure Services division.

 

For each job title, please can you indicate the number of staff that hold each of those positions as at 15 May 2017.

 

Could you please also provide the average salary for each position

 

Please also indicate the highest and lowest paid salary for each job title.

 

To confirm, we are interested in Permanent employees of Transport for London only that work below the Head of Infrastructure Services (or current equivalent job title if this has now changed)

We also understand that you are currently going through a re-structure in this division.

Please find attached the information you requested. The Head of Infrastructure Services position is no longer in use, the equivalent is Head of Technology Services Operations.

 

Please note the additional provisos:

  • Data is taken from employees who currently occupy positions below the Head of Technology Services Operations, those out on secondment to other areas of TfL are not included, those absent long term (e.g. Maternity leave etc.) are included

  • Salary is the full time equivalent (FTE) salary that is paid to the individual as at Period 2 2017 (current period), this does include Higher duty pay, or Higher Grade working if they are being paid this, but does not include any other bonuses, allowances, overtime or other additional or recurring payments, FTE salary was used so a clean comparison can be made between staff who are not full time and full time staff

  • Salary information has been provided in £5k bands, due to the small size of some of the teams it could be possible that details of each team member’s salary could be inferred. This is done in accordance with TfL’s obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA) some personal data has been removed, as required by section 40(2) of the FOI Act. This is because disclosure of this personal data would be a breach of the DPA, specifically the first principle of the DPA which requires all processing of personal data to be fair and lawful. It would not be fair to disclose this personal information when the individuals have no expectation it would be disclosed and TfL has not satisfied one of the conditions of Schedule 2 of the Data Protection Act which would make the processing ‘fair’. This exemption to the right of access to information is an absolute exemption and not subject to an assessment of whether the public interest favours use of the exemption.

  • List includes only Permanent or Fixed Term Contract Employees who currently report hierarchically to the Head of Technology Services Operations on SAP
