Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 1st May 2023 asking for information about consultations on road charging.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.
Specifically you asked:
“Please can you confirm that no tfl/gla consultation took place regarding road charging in February_March this year?”.
I can confirm that TfL has not run a road user charging consultation between February and March 2023. Note that all TfL consultations (both current and archived) can be seen on our website here:
Note further that TfL and the Greater London Authority (GLA) are separate entitties. We cannot respond on behalf of the GLA in regards to the information held by them (FOI requests to the GLA can be made here: https://www.london.gov.uk/who-we-are/governance-and-spending/sharing-our-information/freedom-information). However, that said, we are aware that there was a consultation run by the London Assembly Transport Committee between 9th February and 10th March 2023 that focused on the future of smart road user charging in London. The London Assembly Transport Committee consultation was not run by TfL and we have no role in the analysis of the results or the publication of their findings. For more information you should contact the GLA directly.
