You asked

Currently, we are trying to obtain the most actualize version of some specific indicators to produce comparable data across the regions, so we would be really grateful if you could please give us further information about the following variables concerning the public transport in London: • The total transport public modal share of London. • The number of transport public operators, lines and network length. • The number of validations per type of ticket a year. • The relevance of reduced tickets (students, +65, ...) in the public transport use, as a percentage of the total trips.

Thank you for your email received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25 April 2019, asking for information about London’s transport.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy.  I can confirm we hold some of the information you require. You asked for:

· The total transport public modal share of London.

· The number of transport public operators, lines and network length.

We operate most of London’s public transport services, including London Underground, London Buses, Docklands Light Railway, London Overground, TfL Rail, London Trams, London River Services, London Dial-a-Ride, Victoria Coach Station, Santander Cycles and the Emirates Air Line. We also manage the Transport for London Road Network (TLRN) which accounts for 5% of London’s roads.
