Dear Transport for London, Please provide any records you hold about ridership levels of the W10 bus. Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 25th April 2023 asking for information about ridership on the W10 bus.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. 

Specifically you asked:

Please provide any records you hold about ridership levels of the W10 bus. We wish to see if possible the changes in ridership and demand that occured in the prior longer route that went to Crews Hill and at one time, to Cuffley.”

I can confirm that we hold the information you require.

The data below shows the annual demand figures that we hold for the W10 which is from the Financial Year 1994/95 to 2020/21, which is when the route was withdrawn.

The table below provides the figures for 1994/95 to 2009/10.

Please note that the figures are based on recorded boardings, which for earlier years will not be as accurate an indicator of actual patronage compared to nowadays, as paper tickets and cash were the dominant means of travel.
