Pleas could you tell me when the original 15 year age limit was introduced for the London Taxi.

Thank you for your request received on 19 May 2020 asking for information about the introduction of the taxi age limit.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm we do hold the information you require.

An age limit for London taxis was first introduced in 2010 when it became 15 years, irrespective of the year of licensing.
