Thank you for your email received by us on 19 April 2017 asking for information about usage data for the Emirates Air Line.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked:
Under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 I seek the following information regarding the Emirates Airline Cable Car for the period of 2015, 2016 and any data you have for 2017 (financial or calendar year:
1. The number of journeys made in each direction based on footfall.
2. The number of multi-journey Oyster discounts issued.
3. The number of journeys made using an Oyster card or contactless payment card (or if not held, the number of touch-in/touch outs).
4.The number of people using pay as you go on Oyster/contactless for five or more Emirates Air Line journeys in a calendar week
5. The number of multi-trip (ten journey) passes sold.
6. The total sales generated by the Emirates Airline Cable car.
7. Flag any days that were affected by closures such as caused by high winds.
I would prefer to receive this information electronically, but I can also accept hard copies or to inspect the records.
If the decision is made to withhold some of this data using exemptions in the Data Protection Act, please inform me of that fact and cite the exemptions used.
If some parts of this request are easier to answer than others, I would ask that you release the available data as soon as possible.
