Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 19 April 2017 asking for further information about Metro holders on Go Ahead buses.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

Was it undertaken before or after verbal approval of distribution of Metro newspapers was given?

The distribution of Metro papers was approved on a trial basis. As part of that trial, we conducted a survey of passengers.

Who drew up and carried out the survey?

TfL drew up the survey and our survey staff carried it out.

Who paid for the survey and what did it cost?

There was no cost. It was added to business as usual surveyor duties.

Question 1 of the survey asks “What is the main purpose of your journey” and offers eight possible responses. I would like to know what these responses are.
