Thank you for your request received by Transport for London (TfL) on 12 April 2019 asking for information about sexual harassment on the tube.
Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold some of the information you require.
Over the last three years up to the present date how many sexual harassment allegations have been reported?
All our passengers have the right to travel without fear or intimidation and we’re working closely with the police to eliminate unwanted sexual behaviour from London’s public transport. We are aware of concerns around CCTV on the Central line and will begin installing cameras on these trains next year. TfL and the police are working tirelessly to combat unwanted sexual behaviour and this activity includes running regular covert patrols on the Tube network with plain clothed officers
In 2013, TfL launched a ground-breaking Project Guardian initiative alongside the police, which was promoted by a high profile Report It to Stop It campaign. Further information on the Report It to Stop It campaign can be found here: https://tfl.gov.uk/travel-information/safety/report-it-to-stop-it
Please see the Crime and Incident Bulletins on our website, which include the information you require.
