TfL Ref: 0099-1819

Thank you for your email received by us on 10 April 2018 asking for information about Transport for London’s (TfL) Oyster app.

Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold the information you require. You asked for:

what developments are in place to improve the existing TfL oyster app.

We monitor customer feedback given both on the App Stores in addition to customer feedback we receive directly to help inform the future development of the app. For example, we understand that customers would like to be able to claim service delay refunds via the TfL app and that concessionary card holders would also like to be able to use the TfL app. As both of these features are currently on the development roadmap for the app, the go live dates are yet to be confirmed at this stage.

However, I can advise that contactless card functionality will be added to the TfL Oyster app during Summer 2018. This will allow customers to see their journey and payment history as well as check the status of their contactless card.

If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.

Yours sincerely
