Speed camera on Croydon Road off Mitcham Road near the common - what date were the two cameras installed?
The two cameras were installed on the 29th April 2015.
What was the cause(s) for the speed limit being reduced from 40mph to 30mph? (Death, major incident).
The decision to reduce the speed limit to 30mph was made by Merton Borough Council in order to address a number of factors, including the number of personal injury accidents, the severity of accidents, to assist with road danger reduction, improve the perception of safety for all road users and to complement the recently introduced shared surface (footway and cycle lane) thereby improving the environment for vulnerable road users such as pedestrians and cyclists.
A reduction in speed will also make the environment safer for motorcyclists and improve the overall driving experience along Croydon Road.
