TfL Ref: FOI-0069-1718
Thank you for your email received by us on 8 April 2017 asking for information about speed cameras on the A2.
Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our Information Access Policy. I can confirm we hold the information you require. You asked:
I see from previous answers supplied regarding the average speed cameras on the A2,that the cameras went live at the beginning of March, can you please tell me when the warning signs regarding the starting of the enforcement were displayed ,and where? As I thought this was to be done according to answers supplied by yourselves on this forum, I use this route every day, in both directions, and cannot recall seeing any signs.
All available Variable Message Signs (VMS) on the A2 and approaches to the A2 average speed corridor were displaying messages in rotation with other vital information in the two weeks running up to go-live and during the first week of enforcement. In total 23 VMS were used on the A2, A205, A13, A12 and A406
If this is not the information you are looking for, please feel free to contact me.
Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.
Yours sincerely,
Melissa Nichols
