Intermodal Passenger Flows

Request ID: FOI-0053-1718
Date published: 08 May 2017

You asked

I would like to replicate the study carried out here in 2012: https://dspace.mit.edu/bitstream/handle/1721.1/78242/830539087-MIT.pdf In order to do this, I would need similar data to that which you provided to the study's authors. Specifically: - Oyster card journey information for a representative period (you provide a 5% sample from November 2009 on your unified API, but this is incomplete and out of date) - iBus stop event data for the same period I would like the representative period to be as recent as possible, say the past 6 months.

Our ref: FOI-0053-1718

Thank you for your email of 7 April 2017, asking for information about passenger flows.

Your request has been considered under the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and our information access policy. I can confirm that we do hold the information you require.

We are unfortunately unable to access the research link provided, however, but believe that this refers to the publication of a research study that was commissioned by TfL as part of our academic research partnership with MIT.

That research agreement is for commissioned academic research with MIT where TfL works closely with university and faculty on jointly agreed research topics. MIT has signed a non-disclosure clause as part of that agreement, whereby we have provided them with pseudonymised data that is sensitive and therefore not available for public release.

If relevant, we would be happy to send you our academic research proposal form and would consider your request through our standard process for university data requests / collaboration.

If you are not satisfied with this response please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal.

Yours sincerely
