FOI request detail

Elizabeth Line

Request ID: FOI-0020-1819
Date published: 18 April 2018

You asked

Local news websites have ‘Extend Elizabeth Line to Southend Airport’ in there headlines. Is this is true proposal? I can understand why it would be a good idea, as Southend Airport is pretty much looked over, compared to other airports, and can take 10 times the million people it takes now, according to Glyn Jones, chief executive of the Southend airport’s owners Stobart Aviation. It can also bring a better rail services to the town of Southend, bringing us a more comfortable journey to London, instead of Greater Anglia’s ancient rolling stock. Is this a true proposal?
