We answered
TfL Ref: 0010-2122 Thank you for your request received by us on 4 April 2022 asking for information about humanitarian appeal advertising campaigns. Your request has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of Information Act and our information access policy. I can confirm that we hold some of the information you require. You asked: how much money (in £GDP) has TfL received: -since 24 February 2022 for adverts in relation to the "Ukraine humanitarian appeal" by the Disasters Emergency Committee -since August 2021 for adverts in relation to the Afghanistan crisis appeal by the Disasters Emergency Committee -for any similar humanitarian appeal adverts in relation to the conflict in Yemen since September 2014 We can advise that the Disasters Emergency Committee(DEC) ran two advertising campaigns for Afghanistan with Transport for London, both of which were during December 2021. The DEC ran two campaigns for Ukraine in March 2022. Our Media Partner does not hold records before 2018 and cannot find anything on file for Yemen.
The costs of these campaigns are negotiated prices, which are agreed directly between our media partner and the client; therefore Transport for London does not hold this information. Transport for London has not liaised directly with the client and does not hold any records on the advertising campaigns that run on our network unless it has been sent to us for Copy policy sign-off. If this is not the information you are looking for, or if you are unable to access it for any reason, please do not hesitate to contact me. Please see the attached information sheet for details of your right to appeal as well as information on copyright and what to do if you would like to re-use any of the information we have disclosed.
