The Crossrail project is being built by Crossrail Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of TfL and is jointly sponsored by the Department for Transport and TfL. Communications on the project transfer to TfL in July 2018 in preparation for the opening of the central London section of the Elizabeth line in December 2018.
The Elizabeth line will be part of London's integrated transport network. When it is fully open it will pass through 41 stations from Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east.
