Job overview
The Rail for London Infrastructure (RfLI) Network Operations team will manage the central operating section of the Elizabeth Line, between Paddington and Abbey Wood/Stratford.
As an RfLI Operations Apprentice, you'll be supporting our Network Operations team in ensuring the ongoing high performance and management of the Elizabeth line train service.
You'll be responsible for assisting with the operation of our:
- Signalling
- Electrical control
- Tunnel ventilation
- Other systems
What you'll be doing
As an apprentice your programme will balance learning with practical experience.
The majority of your time will be spent at our Route Control Centre (RCC) at Romford, working with fellow RfLI colleagues and our industry partners. However, you'll also get to experience opportunities outside of the RCC in our wider RfLI teams.
Our aim is to equip you with the knowledge and experience you need for a successful career in the rail industry.
Over the course of your apprenticeship, you'll experience placements focusing on our:
- Signalling
- Electrical control
- Tunnel ventilation systems
You'll learn and correctly apply railway rules and procedures to our high safety standards.
You'll have the opportunity to interact with all those involved in operating the Elizabeth line including train drivers, incident responders and our maintenance teams.
Where this career can take you
Upon successful completion of this apprenticeship, you could roll-off into our training scheme for a Traffic Manager role on the Elizabeth Line.
The skills, knowledge and experience developed during your time on the programme will open up a range of opportunities within Railways Operations.
