Training & development

You will have a dedicated:

  • Apprenticeship business sponsor who will be the central point of contact during your scheme and coordinates training, development and placements
  • Training provider to give ongoing support, training and assessment
  • Apprenticeship support manager to provide day to day support and help you through the life cycle of your apprenticeship
Each apprenticeship scheme may also:
  • Where possible, assign apprentices to a second year 'buddy' - someone already on their apprentice scheme who can answer any questions they have
  • Assign apprentices to a mentor
  • Offer you the chance to represent TfL at events to attract new apprentices, or act as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) ambassador in schools
  • Offer technical training to meet the needs of placements and keep up with industry standards
  • Provide training for soft-skill development including presentation skills, report writing and personal impact
  • Provide support to progress to professional membership with institutions including IET, ICE, RICS, CIPS, CIMA, CIPD
  • Offer you the opportunity to study for a degree in a TfL business-related subject on completion of your apprenticeship
