Initially, there is a three-day induction based in London which explains everything there is to know about us, the role and where you fit in. Following that, you'll begin an intensive development programme, designed to give your career a real kickstart.
The programme involves on-the-job training, working with experienced staff to help you develop the skills needed for the IM profession, as well as classroom-based training. You'll also learn all the essential skills to enable you to work on and improve the variety of systems and technology.
This scheme operates in two separate areas of IM: Service Management and Infrastructure Services, both of which use different skills and strengths. Please consider tailoring your application for the area you want to join.
This placement provides exposure to all areas of the Service Management department to experience all aspects of how IM supports over 500 business services. You will also interact with projects which transition new and amended services.
During the programme you'll work alongside established professionals across a range of areas, including:
Infrastructure ServicesHere, you will be involved in maintaining a large number of servers and desktops across the IT estate, including a wide range of operating systems such as: Windows, UNIX and Citrix. Working with experienced professionals, challenges can range from remote monitoring, estate changes, to overall improvements for both our internal and external customers' user experience. Performance and Compliance
IM Performance and Compliance is responsible for delivering services that enable the business to achieve its objectives. You'll be involved in the following deliverables:
On either route you will learn and gain hands-on experience from subject matter experts across a wide range of industry disciplines, supporting the IM needs our whole London estate, which consists of more than 30,000 users.
You'll develop your skills by working through a set of challenging placements and will also benefit from on-the-job coaching.
After two years, you will gain a City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence and ICT Systems and Principles.
