Closures

The IFS Cloud Cable Car will be shut for essential maintenance between 18 and 27 March 2024.

On bank holidays, we operate a Sunday timetable.

Frequency

The cars arrive every 30 seconds and carry up to ten people.

Journey times

One way journeys take up to 10 minutes but vary according to passenger flow and weather conditions.

During busy times, we introduce shared cars. This is to help with queue management and improve the customer experience.

Temporary disruption due to weather

The IFS Cloud Cable Car may temporarily close due to:

  • Threat of lightning and thunder to the immediate area
  • Very strong winds

Check Status updates or call our 24-hour travel information line on 0343 222 1234 (TfL call charges).

Bicycles, e-bikes, e-scooters and e-unicycles

Bicycles are accepted on the IFS Cloud Cable Car at all times.

Guests with bicycles travel for free on the cable car before 09:30 on weekdays, excluding bank holidays.

We're currently reviewing our safety approach to e-bikes - their use is temporarily suspended until this review is finished.

E-scooters and e-unicycles are prohibited on the IFS Cloud Cable Car in line with TfL policy.

Accessibility

The IFS Cloud Cable Car has step-free access, and is accessible to most wheelchairs including motorised wheelchairs and mobility scooters.

The maximum weight is 300kg and the maximum size is 700mm by 1300mm. We may ask you to confirm dimensions of your scooter and we may check using a floor marking to make sure you can board safely.

Customers get on and off through the same doors and there may not be enough space for you to turn round. This means you may have to reverse your wheelchair or scooter to get in or out of the cars.

The cable cars can be slowed down to allow you plenty of time to board.

Electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters must be turned off inside the cars.

Fares

You can pre-book your tickets online. You can also travel pay as you go using a contactless payment card or device, or Oyster card.
