This is your chance to make history. As part of the TfL Investment Programme to transform the Tube, we're delivering upgrades and renewals on a scale unprecedented in the network's 150-year history. Delivering all projects on time, safely and to a high standard is no mean feat. And it demands sound project management at every stage.
This graduate scheme will see you applying your theoretical knowledge and making a genuine contribution to the success of our projects. You'll work on a variety of high-profile and complex developments, at different stages of the project management life cycle.
We've improvements going on across the network, so you could, for instance, find yourself working with a delivery team upgrading the Sub-Surface Railway, working on the £500m redevelopment of Victoria Underground station or on the massive Tottenham Court Road project.
Every aspect of the scheme is intended to develop you into a competent and professional project manager. Delivering improvements to the Capital's transport system, you'll help to make us world-class.
Placements
You'll join one of our project delivery teams: Forecasting, project implementation, performance and commercial management are just some of the areas you'll work in. There will be an opportunity, in the second year, to diversify into other specific areas such as planning and risk management. You'll also be able to undertake placements in other areas across TfL.
Operational placements
Critical to your success on the scheme and throughout your career here is the practical experience of working in one of London Underground's stations. Our Operational Learning team will provide all you need, including safety critical qualifications, people management skills and technical knowledge. They'll also shadow you to ensure that each placement is valuable and engaging throughout.
You'll be contracted to work a minimum 35-hour week. Your three-month placement in an operational environment may involve varied hours, including weekend working and shifts, dependent on your role. Office-based placements will generally involve usual office hours.
Further education and professional studies
You can be rest assured that we'll support and encourage you with your professional studies at every step of the way. Your programme of training and development will help you achieve membership of the Association of Project Management (IPMA) Level D qualification.
