Surface Transport is responsible for all of London's above-ground transport. From the iconic buses to the roads they ride on, we're there to keep the Capital moving.
Our remit is extremely diverse - and our graduate scheme is too. You'll work on projects that include bridge rehabilitation, the design and implementation of traffic engineering schemes, and the construction of new highway infrastructure.
As well as providing specialist advice and solutions within these areas, we also build professional working relationships with all 33 of London's local authorities. This wide exposure means that you'll quickly gain sound engineering knowledge, as well as a thorough understanding of the Mayor's Transport Strategy - the vision behind all we do at TfL.
Surface Transport is predominately a client organisation and as such emphasis is concentrated on the facilitation and management of the design process undertaken by TfL's retained consultants and contractors. There will be opportunities however to undertake elements of design, both office and site-based. This is dependent on the projects being undertaken at the time.
